Today. Viptela has agreed to be acquired by Cisco.
Cisco’s ability to provide software defined WAN with the current IOS technology isn’t working out too well. Mostly, we hear negative feedback about iWAN, APIC-EM and Prime, which is the SD-WAN strategy. We also hear that Cisco hasn’t been winning deals in the Enterprise WAN space even when the discounts are aggressive.
Ethan and Greg have jumped on the microphones for an unplanned, free-form discussion of a bunch of thoughts on both sides of the acquisition. On balance, we are both excited about this and believe it’s going to be a positive outcome for customers.
