In theory, a self-driving network would, with guidance from operators, be able to discover its constituent parts, self-configure, monitor and update service delivery, and do other things.
The goal is to provide a highly automated network that’s more efficient, easier to operate, less expensive, and more secure.
Building and deploying such a network would, of course, require a long-term transition. Existing networks, tooling, telemetry, and training would need to be adapted over time.
