During the Network Field Day event, we received a product demonstration from Riverbed on their SD-WAN interface. They demonstrated the configuration needed to add a new device before you power it on at site (where it will auto-configure itself from the prepared configuration).
Then they demonstrated how to create a security rule or ACL that can be pushed into the entire WAN in a very simple step. I extracted these segments into a 4 minute video that I think demonstrates the power of SDN in the WAN and, particularly, why network engineers won’t HAVE to be programmers to operate a network.
Here is the full video that I extracted the clips from. Watch the whole thing to satisfy yourself. Hansang is a good speaker and doesn’t mess around in the slick presentation.
The full demo of the flexible overlay building a full mesh WAN architecture for Voice while have different architecture for data is in this and also worth watching.
