The Packet Pushers have been sponsored by Cisco’s Data Centre team to bring the podcast to Cisco Live 2012 in San Diego. Frankly, that’s pretty bloody awesome – so a big thank you to Omar Sultan and Amy Lewis from Cisco for making this possible. Yes, it’s exciting to be recognised as a source for news and analysis on the best job in the world – Networking.

We have a heavy schedule of recording, and we will publishing content into the Priority Queue feed as fast as we can edit and press the “publish” button.
Sunday
On Sunday at 3:00PM, Ethan & I will both be at “Tom’s Tweetup” in the Social Media lounge at Cisco Live along with a whole bunch of other people that you might know or recognise from their Twitter accounts or blogs. Personally, I’m really looking forward to meeting people I’ve communicated with and talked to for years but never met in person. I hope that you’ll join us. Here’s a map where the Social Media Lounge is located:

Monday
We have a full schedule for recording on Monday during the day. I think I have some time in the morning on Monday, but will most likely be getting the sound set up and tested.
Monday Evening
On Monday Evening, Stephen Foskett is hosting a Photography and Gadget Party @ Joe’s Crab Shack 525 East Harbor Drive San Diego next to the Convention Center. You can sign up for the event for free or for a donation.
Ethan and I have been co-opted to meet with some Cisco executives and be briefed on some upcoming strategies, so we may not be there until late or at all.
Tuesday
This is the day when we really earn our keep – a full day of recording, editing and meeting around Cisco’s new strategies. Currently we are under NDA, but there is a lot of news to be released this week.
Tuesday Evening
We will be heading to the CCIE VIP Party at 7:00PM to be appreciated by Cisco. It’s nice to be appreciated after the amount of money we poured into Cisco’s bottom line this year. We won’t be staying long though, as we are definitely attending the Cisco Live Data Centre Tweetup.
The Cisco Live Data Centre will be notable for the provision of Bacon and Waffles at ten o’clock at night. I imagine there will also be small amounts of alcohol to ensure comestible entrainment is maintained.
Addresses: Brian’s 24, 828 6th Ave, San Diego, CA 92101 Web: http://tweetvite.com/event/CLUS12
Wednesday
Wednesday is less intensive, and we’re hoping to take in a couple of tech sessions. Got some executive briefings.
Wednesday Night
Cisco customer appreciation night or “The Party”. It’s on an Aircraft carrier. ‘Nuff said.
Thursday
More editing and publishing in the morning.
There will be another organised Tweetup in the Social Media Lounge 11:30AM – 1:30PM. We will be there as we close out the event.
