We’ve talked a lot about Chinese vendors recently and their growth globally. Being Number 2 to Cisco isn’t all that hard. Juniper does $5B per year, while Cisco does roughly $30B. So lets say that Huawei networking is larger than Juniper and HPE in the Enterprise. Down the line, Extreme Networks is running about $1B per year revenue.
Putting aside the political fuss, its seem likely that Huawei is taking business from someone and most likely Cisco.
Huawei saw rapid year-over-year revenue growth in the global enterprise network equipment market in 2017 and moved from 3rd place in 2016 to 2nd place in 2017 in global market share ranking, according to Gartner’s recently released Market Share Analysis: Enterprise Network Equipment, Worldwide, 2017.
Huawei has limited access to US markets today so its likely that Huawei is growing strongly in China, Asia and Europe. Its worth thinking about what that means for future growth for US vendors.
