Today’s Packet Pushers show is the latest in the Future of Networking series. Our guest is Pradeep Sindhu, founder and vice chairman of Juniper Networks.

Pradeep and the Packet Pushers talk about the potential end of Moore’s Law, and what impact this could have on the future of the industry at large, and networking in particular. The impetus for this conversation was a talk given by Pradeep at the Juniper NXTWORK conference in October 2016.

We start the conversation with an overview of transistors and their limits, and explore whether substances other than silicon could be used to manufacture chips.

We also talk about what the scaling limitations of silicon mean for computing and networking, whether applications will have to be re-architected, and whether silicon limits are a problem for the enterprise or just hyper-scale networks.

Best Show yet! I can now explain to others why we have that 25/50Gb/s limit.
I’m almost thinking maybe you need a channel or podcast called the “Deep Dive” that is extremely technical.

One of the best Packet Pushers podcasts ever. I had to listen to it twice to catch all the details. Great technical info that explains the scale out of CPUs on compute and networking. The products and trends that we see in the marketplace now make sense.
