This article breathlessly exclaims that RIPE is out of IPv4 addresses: “This Time, There Really Are NO IPv4 Internet Addresses Left – ISPreview UK”. I thought that was a claim worth researching. Sure enough, it’s false.
It hasn’t. RIPE has excellent documentation and statistics on this. When I check their IPv4 run out page
RIPE no longer has contagious /22 address range to allocate but continues to allocate smaller prefixes. This chart clearly shows that 600000 addresses remain in the pool.
The EtherealMind View
Come on people, why aren’t you wasting these addresses so that IPv6 becomes the default for new sites! Its been twenty years and you are still hoarding IPv4 addresses. Stop it.
