As the year winds down, it’s time to think about your priorities for 2018.
Continuing education is a given for tech jobs, so we asked readers of Human Infrastructure Magazine which technology area they’re most interested in learning about in the coming year.
Automation ran away with the survey, netting almost half of all responses. (41 people answered the survey.)
Intent-based networking and containers were a distant second and third, respectively. These two options were separated by just a single response.
You could argue that intent-based networking is a subset of automation and shouldn’t stand alone, but it’s an emerging category of interest, so I wanted to specifically call it out.
Meanwhile, machine learning, which I predict will be the most abused term by tech marketers in 2018, limped into last place.
Here’s the breakdown of results by percentage.
- Automation: 46.3%
- Containers: 17.1%
- Intent-based networking: 19.5%
- Machine learning: 7.3%
- Other: 9.8%
